Donsu: The Heart and Soul Behind Empowering Autism's Mission
Donsu Adams is a 20-year veteran/mentor special education teacher and family consultant. She began her career working in Intensive Early Intervention in Maryland, while completing her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education at John Hopkin’s University. Post graduation she was invited to teach in John Hopkin's graduate program. She has worked with families and school systems across Maryland, Virginia, and Florida at the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels. She was awarded teacher of year in 2009 and nominated a second time in 2019. She enjoys sharing her self-written social skills and emotional regulation curriculum with students and families, with the goal of empowering parents and children with autism and related disabilities.
Donsu has been working as an Autism Family Consultant exclusively for the past 3 years, focusing on writing treatment plans for Autism Waiver Participants, training and supervising in-home support staff, and supporting families in Educational Advocacy. She attributes her success with supporting families to her years of experience and the gift of motherhood to 3 children, one with a disability. The gift of parent perspective allows her to offer true empathy and sympathy to families supporting a child with a disability.
Donsu is currently serving as Empowering Autism's Family Empowerment Specialist. She supports families with supporting their child across all settings; home, school, and community. She is more than just a member of our team; she is the essence of our mission. With her support, families receive expert guidance. from a devoted ally, committed to empowering them towards their child's success.

Andre is at the forefront of Branding and Operations at Empowering Autism, where his exceptional blend of vision and strategy shapes the core of our mission. As the mastermind behind our brand's identity, he directs the aesthetics of our website and the strategic flow of our content, propelling our business model with unmatched precision and innovation.
Andre's journey to his current role is deeply personal and begins with his experiences as a dedicated father and family man. Navigating the challenges of his son's educational needs, he encountered firsthand the gaps in support and understanding within the realm of special education. These experiences not only reshaped his personal outlook but also ignited a profound commitment to effect change for other families encountering similar hurdles.
Inspired by these challenges and bolstered by the deep-seated expertise of his wife, Donsu, a seasoned specialist in special education, Andre was driven to create Empowering Autism. His vision was clear: to forge a platform that empowers parents, bridges knowledge gaps, and builds a supportive community for families navigating the complexities of special needs.
Today, as Empowering Autism thrives under his leadership, Andre's role transcends traditional boundaries. He is not only an operational leader but also a passionate advocate for families.
